Robotic Colorectal Surgery (Animal Use Courses)

The robotic preclinical training programs, scientifically supported and implemented by the Node Institute, are designed to offer advanced-level specialization for general surgeons seeking to enhance their skills in the field of robotic colorectal surgery.

These educational programs are based on preclinical models (pigs), which are recognized as a highly realistic and scientifically validated method for practicing and developing advanced surgical techniques. Each program is designed according to the specific needs of the surgical specialty and modern clinical practice and consists of:

Hands-On Surgical Training, where participants apply their knowledge by performing predefined robotic intestinal procedures on animal models. These procedures are conducted under the continuous supervision of experienced instructors, using a dual-console robotic setup for real-time guidance.

The programs are intended for qualified general surgeons who already have basic familiarity with the Da Vinci robotic system and wish to upgrade their competencies in applying robotic technology to complex gastrointestinal surgeries. Training is delivered in small groups, with two trainees per robotic console and two expert instructors per group, ensuring optimal learning outcomes and personalized mentoring.

The dates for 2025 are:

16 & 17 September 2025

Participation in the program is free of charge, as with all educational programs organized by NoDE.
