Grigoris Chatzimavroudis is Professor of Surgery at Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and Head of the Complex Hernia & Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Center (« The Hellenic Hernia Center ») at the European Interbalkan Medical Center of Thessaloniki, Greece, an accredited Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery. Moreover, he is the President of the Hellenic Hernia Society and accredited as Master Surgeon & Surgeon of Excellence in Hernia Surgery (by SRC).
Professor Chatzimavroudis’ main clinical and academic activities and interests are focused on abdominal wall hernia surgery. He is performing all types of hernia repair, with open, laparoscopic and robotic techniques. Due to his expertise in complex abdominal wall hernia surgery, he has been invited in many countries to operate patients with complex hernias, while he has participated in numerous international hernia congresses, symposiums, webinars, web-teaching courses, masterclasses and workshops for complex hernia management and component separation techniques as an invited speaker and instructor. Each year he organizes in his Center many hands-on workshops and masterclasses for abdominal wall hernia repair with international attendees. He is a member of 11 international medical societies and has been awarded so far with 4 awards of excellence, 4 scholarships and 8 first prizes for best oral presentation. He has published more than 195 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, indexed in Pubmed/Scopus, with an IF>550, Hirsch index 26 and more than 2300 citations.
